1.      Cover the work area with newspapers or rags to absorb excess clearance fluid and dirt that may drip from the chain during cleaning. Remove excess mud, dirt and grime from the chain using a shop rag or cog cleaning brush.

2.      Ensure that the bike is stabilized in a workstand or against a wall. Shift the chain into the middle or small chain ring up front, and the middle of the cog set in the rear. Adjust the bike so that the lower portion of the chain is parallel with the ground.

3.      Install the handle onto the body of the chain cleaner (Fig A&B).

4.      Remove the locking clip by flipping it open towards the handle. Then remove the lid by lifting it upwards. Add degreaser to the FILL line on the side of the lower case. To avoid spillage, do not overfill.

5.      Position the chain cleaner on the lower portion of the chain, mid-way between the cog set and crank set (Fig C).

6.      Replace the lid, making sure it is completely flush with the reservoir body (Fig D).Flip the locking clip into place you should hear an audible ”CLICK” to indicate the locking clip is secure.

7.      While holding firmly the chain cleaner handle with your left hand, rotate the crank/Pedal slowly counterclockwise several complete rotations to clean the chain (Fig E). If necessary, refill the reservoir with fresh cleaning fluid and continue scrubbing until the chain is clean. Dry the chain thoroughly with a rag to remove all cleaning fluid.

8.      Re-lubricate the chain.

9.      Wipe up spills immediately. Always dispose of cleaning fluid and soiled rags properly. When finished, rinse the chain cleaner with water and allow to air dry.

10.  For best results use the chain cleaner on a regular basis to prevent hard caked on grime from accumulating on the chain.
